St. Patrick's Day Shake Recipe

St. Patrick's Day is often a fun day for adults, but it's a little more difficult to involve the kids in our lives beyond the traditional parade. We're always trying to think of quick, easy, cute, things to do around our home to make each holiday more exciting for our 4 year old.

Last night I surprised her with a St. Patty's Milkshake (I left out the mint flavor that we use to make this exact shake into the well-known Shamrock Shake made at home). It took less than 5 minutes, and we had all of the ingredients in the pantry.

Kid-Friendly St. Patty's Milkshake

  • 3 Scoops of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
  • 1/4 Cup of Milk (plus more as needed)
  • Green Food Coloring
  • Yellow Food Coloring
  • Rainbow Sprinkles
  • Whipped Cream (in a can, cool whip, whatever you've got!)
  • Airhead Xtremes Rainbow Strips Candy

Instructions:

Put ice cream, 5 drops of green food coloring, 2 drops of yellow food coloring, and milk into blender. Blend until smooth, adding additional milk as needed. Pour into kid-friendly cup and top with "clouds" of whipped cream. Spread rainbow sprinkles across the clouds. Take an Airhead Xtreme strip and cut to appropriate length (will depend on the size of your cup). Arch Airhead Xtreme and tuck directly into whipped cream. Add your favorite color straw and serve!

I think she liked it.....plus I'm happy because she got extra calcium in for the day! Win-win.

Cheers!
